Bell Ruffles

Bell Ruffles

There are many versions of knitted bells, but this Embossed Bell Motif, from Walker's Treasury of Knitting Patterns, is a nice example. You can use it at the edge of a garment as a single row of bells. Or repeat the pattern several times for a more extravagant border. I like that you don't have to use at the edge; I wonder what it would look like decorating the base of a yoke on a little girl's knitted jacket.
