This free pattern is the perfect project for that tiny bit of leftover yarn. It’s also a beautiful way to wrap a small gift.

Finished Measurements A little larger than 2 inches wide and 2 inches tall
Yarn 2 skeins Sweatermaker Yarns Maggie 70% silk 30% cashmere, 251 yds (230 m)/50g per skein
Gauge 5.5 stitches = 1 inch. Gauge is not essential for this project.
Needles 4.0mm needles, either a set of dpn’s or 2 circular; a circular needle, same size or smaller, to hold stitches to turn work inside out for finishing
Other Supplies approx 8 inches of ribbon
Gift bag pattern
The bag is worked in the round from the top down, and then joined at the bottom with a 3 needle bind off.
Cast on 24 sts, join in the round.
Row 1: *Knit1, purl 1. Repeat from *.
Row 2: *Purl 1, knit 1. Repeat from *.
Rows 3-18: Knit.
Transfer stitches to circular needle if using dpn’s, and carefully turn work inside out. Distribute stitches evenly across 2 needles, and close bottom of bag with 3 needle bind off.
Weave in ends. Thread ribbon in between stitches near top of bag for drawstring.
